myResponder: A life saving initiative by the Singapore Civil Defence Force
The myResponder app is designed to alert volunteers to nearby cases of cardiac arrest in Singapore. If a volunteer is within 400 meters of a cardiac arrest case, they will receive a notification and can choose to respond and offer their assistance. The app also shows nearby automated external defibrillators (AEDs) that may be available for use. Once at the scene, volunteers can help perform CPR or apply the AED to revive the patient. The app also allows volunteers to guide ambulance crews to the incident site. To use the app, volunteers need to have their SingPass ID and password ready, and if under 18, parental consent is required. The app provides geolocation notifications, displays nearby incidents and AEDs using OneMap, enables geolocation dialing of 995 for emergencies, and provides access to the National AED Registry. This app is a project by the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
